Are There Any Grownups In The Democratic Party?
Some grownups in the Democratic Party need to step forward and save Clinton and Obama from themselves and before they destroy the Democratic party.
The bickering between the two campaigns is going to cause our party to miss the best opportunity in years to win back the White House. I am a life long Democrat and I am ready to jump ship. Do these two candidates realize what is happening? Do they realize that they are clearing the road for a McCann victory? Its seems that neither candidates have the delegates to win so they are determined to beat each other up, so that one will quit.
What is more important Senator Clinton ‘ you winning the White House or your party winning? Maybe our country is really not ready for a woman to occupy the Oval Office. Maybe America isn’t the leader of the free world, for it seems we are not a country in the lead on the gender bias issue. And are we still a country that is racially bias also? We are a country in very bad shape at this time! We have learned nothing except to hide our biases from each other.

American Politics And The Second Coming Of The Tea Party Part 2 Of A 2 Part Series
“In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men the great difficulty lies in this: You must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, oblige it to control itself.” – Alexander Hamilton
This piece, part two of a two-part series, will pick up where part one left off, at the demise of the Federalist Party and the emergence of the Democratic-Republican Party. It will then explore the remaining history of American political parties up to this day.
The party system in the United States was born as the Federalists, in favor of central government and industry, and the Anti-Federalists, in favor of states rights and farming, struggled for power. As part of the deal that ended with the ratification of the Constitution, the two parties agreed that a body elect would choose the President and the Vice President, not the people themselves. This was the method of choosing the President until 1824, when the system we have now was put into place. George Washington was unanimously elected by electoral vote as the first President and John Adams was his Vice-President.

401k & the Democratic Party
“Back in the day,” Enron’s collapse triggered the first major 401(k) fiasco in American history. Enron executives had encouraged employees to direct their 401(k) investments into the company’s stock, and they generally had matched employees’ contributions with Enron shares. When Enron went belly-up, therefore, the employees’ 401(k)s went bust. In the wake of the Enron debacle, Congressional Democrats took the initiative to assure 401(k) investors would diversify their portfolios, and they imposed sanctions on major corporations which “too strongly encouraged” (translation: required) employees to invest their 401(k) contributions in the company’s shares.
Because individual retirement accounts came out of Republican initiatives, 401(k) and the Democratic Party never have been exactly intimate. But, because Democrats always have allied with and stood up for labor, 401(k) and the Democratic Party frequently have duked-it-out with big corporations.
