National Progressive Organizations
Emily's
List. EMILY's List, the nation's largest grassroots political
network, is dedicated to taking back our country from the radical right
wing by electing pro-choice Democratic women to federal, state, and
local office.
Democratic
National Committee. The Democratic National Committee plans
the Party's quadrennial presidential nominating convention; promotes
the election of Party candidates with both technical and financial
support; and works with national, state, and local party organizations,
elected officials, candidates, and constituencies to respond to the
needs and views of the Democratic electorate and the nation.
Democracy
for America. By working together, Americans can overcome the
forces of the right-wing and reassume their constitutional role in
running the country. Howard Dean's slogan, "You have the power",
applies not only to people's ability to change America, it also applies
to their ability to make every day decisions about how they can cause
that change.

National Democratic Club. In 1922, the Woman's National
Democratic Club was founded in Washington, DC, two years after the 19th
Amendment granted voting rights to women.

Accountability Office. The Government Accountability Office
(GAO) is an agency that works for Congress and the American people by
studying the programs and expenditures of the federal government.

Printing Office. GPO Access is a service of the U.S.
Government Printing Office that provides free electronic access to a
wealth of important information products produced by the Federal
Government.
League of Women
Voters. Whether you're interested in voter information, civic
participation, or current public policy issues such as election reform,
campaign finance reform and health care, this is the right place.
National
Academy of Social Insurance. The National Academy of Social
Insurance is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization made up of the
nation's leading experts on social insurance. Its mission is to promote
understanding and informed policymaking on social insurance and related
programs through research, public education, training, and the open
exchange of ideas.
National
Association of State Budget Officers. NASBO serves as the
chief financial advisors to our nation’s governors. The major
functions of the organization consist of research, policy development,
education, training, and technical assistance.

Conference of State Legislatures. The National Conference of
State Legislatures is a bipartisan organization that serves the
legislators and staffs of the nation's 50 states by providing research,
technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange
ideas on the most pressing state issues.

League of Cities. The National League of Cities is the oldest
and largest national organization representing municipal governments
throughout the United States. Its mission is to strengthen and promote
cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance.
