From the Cockpit

by Bill Cantrell
President, DKC

A Message from Frank

August 1, 2008

Kerr County Democrats and Friends:

Democrats are rising in Kerr County! 4503 citizens voted in the March 2008 Democratic primary, 34 percent of the total Kerr County vote.  Compare that to our 6.7 percent in 2000 and 12.2 percent in 2004 and it's evident the political surge is definitely working in our favor.

As you already know, Democrats across Texas and throughout the nation made significant gains in 2006, and the immense majority of our fellow citizens are demanding change now!  However, further electoral gains won't necessarily come easy.

Victory for Barrack Obama and our other candidates depends on the success of the Democratic 50-state strategy, which, in turn, will be contingent on Texas having a sound 254-county strategy and Kerr County executing an effective 20-precinct strategy.  I am committed, as I know all of you are, to making that happen.

Many of you are already involved in our efforts locally.  In addition, your Democratic Executive Committee is now launching campaign initiatives such as telephone
